League Men - Uni Rebels Vs Palmerston

Rebels Legend Jamie "Larry" Hamill sets a New Record for All Time League Games Record to 746. DBA recognized this Milestone before the start of the game against Palmerston. This game also features the return of experience guard Marcus Ch'ng to the League side. Rebels Men came out sluggish to start the first quarter falling behind 6 to 16 in the first 5 minutes of the game, Rebels found form late in the quarter and finished the first quarter 14 to 29. Uni Rebels could not keep up with Palmerston's offensive output in the second quarter and finished the first half with a 29 to 41 deficit. Rebels Men had a huge third quarter fight back to close the gap 51 to 58 to end the third quarter. After a good push to start the last quarter Uni Rebels managed to tie the game 69 to 69 with a minute left in the fourth led by Jay Hardy (17pts) and supported by Shannon Bartlett (13pts), Jason Nwisienyi (12pts) and Larry Hamill (9pts) who hit the first points of the game for Uni Rebels with a 3-point bomb. But Uni Rebels was unsuccessful to secure the win, falling to Palmerston 69 to 72 which dampened the celebration of Uni Rebels for Larry's 746th League Games.

League Women - Uni Rebels Vs Palmerston

Uni Rebels defeated second place Palmerston 55-46. Palmerston being a bigger team were no match for the young team who kept the lead all the way. With Ieasha Friel 25pts and Danielle Ponter with 12pts kept the girls going. With alot of rebounding from the backline with Kaitey Whittaker and Chantelle Lee kept the girls pushing it. This was a great team effort from the young side.
