League Men - Uni Rebels Vs Ansett
Uni Rebels Men started the game well trying to keep in pace with Ansett to end the first quarter 13 to 19. Rebels fell behind in the second quarter struggling to find the basket offensively and finished the first half with a 21 to 39 deficit. Rebels Men was still unable to reel in Ansett in the third quarter and the deficit balooned to 21 points; 45 to 66 to end the third quarter. A good pep talk during the last break from the Rebels coaching staff the boys came to life in the last quarter. Uni Rebels came out with a high defensive intensity which held Ansett to 11 points in the fourth quarter going on a 31 to 11 run led by American import Jay Hardy (31pts), Jayson Nwisienyi (19pts) and Jake Kirby (8pts). But Uni Rebels did not have enough time and was unable to secure the win losing to Ansett 74 to 77. Uni Rebels Mens will be playing in the Finals next week and will go up against Palmerston in the 3 Vs 4 Playoff. Come down next week of cheer on the team as they battle to advance to the next round of the Finals.
