League Women Semi Finals - Uni Rebels Vs Palmerston
It was an entertaining Semi Final match between Uni Rebels Vs Palmerston last Friday night. Rebels Women came out of the blocks on fire hitting Palmerston with a full court press and went on a 11-0 run in the first 4 minutes of the game. Palmerston settled in and started to put points on the board and finish the first quarter 16 to 10. Uni Rebels kept the momentum going in the second quarter and maintained the advantage 33 to 22 to end the first half. Palmerston rallied back in the third quarter and went on a 23-9 run and finished the quarter ahead by 3 points 42 to 45. Rebels Women re-grouped in the last quarter and took back the momentum from Palmerston and went point for point with several lead changes in the last period. Led by Danielle Ponter (16pts) and supported by Ieasha Friel (12pts), Michelle Friel (9pts) and Shavayah Lee (9pts) Uni Rebels grinded out the win 61 to 56 to advance to the Preliminary Finals next Saturday September 15, 2018 at 5pm. Make sure we come down and cheer on the girls to move on the the Grand Final.
