League Men Semi Finals - Uni Rebels Vs Palmerston
Semi Final game between Uni Rebels Vs Palmerston showed Rebels Men came out with great definsive intensity, keeping Palmerston within striking distance and finished the first quarter 9 to 15. Uni Rebels worked hard in the second quarter to maintain defensive intensity and momentum but gave up a 28 to 37 defecit to end the first half. Palmerston maintained its lead in the third quarter and went on to finish the quarter ahead by 14 points 44 to 58. Rebels Men tried to launch a fourth quarter comeback led by Ryan Smith (21pts) and supported by Jay Hardy (17pts) and Jason Nwisienyi (10pts) they managed to cut down the Palmerston lead to 12 with 4 minutes left in the game. In the last minute of the game Uni Rebels fielded the youngest player in the League Mixon Laurel (14yrs) who forced a couple of turnovers on defense, and the oldest player in the League Larry Hamill (???yrs) who hit 2 long range bombs to cut the deficit down to 8 points. Uni Rebels was unable to take the win going down to Palmerston 68 to 75 and ultimately ending their season.
