A do or die elimination for the rebels ladies. Rebels womens finishing fourth were playing third placed Ansett. The game got off to a slow start with Ansett first to score. Rebels ladies got on the board thru kayllah motlop. It was a scrappy first quarter with both team finding it hard to score. Rebels womens went into the first break with a 10 - 7 lead. Ieasha Friel (4) and Sarah Hagan (3). Ansett dominated the second as both teams found a way to the basket. Ansett going into the main break with a 27 - 25 lead. Coaches asked to work hard on defence and movement on offence. Rebels womens couldn't find a way to the basket nor stop the scoring of the Ansett team. Everytime the rebels team found a way the Ansett womens would find a way to reply. The ansett team still maintain the lead going into the last quarter. Coaches asked the rebels womens to dig deep and needed someone to step up. Trailing for most the game the rebels got the lead in the last 50secs of the game. With Both sides in foul trouble in came down to who made the foul shots. Both Ieasha and Patricia Graham made baskets at the line. In the end the ladies prevailed 1 point winners in a nail biting elimination final. Patricia Graham was outstanding at both ends finishing with 24 followed by Ieasha on 19. It will be a big week with the ladies to vs Jets at 7pm on Saturday.
