League Men - Uni Rebels Vs Lightning

Uni Rebels Men went up against Lightning last Thursday night with out starting forward Eric Klenke, but the return of Jason Goodwin to the line up help bolstered the Rebels defense. Rebels Started out well and went on a 16 to 7 advantage in the first five minutes of the game. Rebels defensive intensity amped up in the last five minutes of the first quarter and went on a 12-4 run and closed out the first quarter 24 to 11.

Rebels leading scorer Lawrance Triplett (45pts) lead the Rebels attack by organizing the troops and netting 14 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Uni Rebels maintained their momentum in the second quarter and kept pulling away with the lead and control of the game and finished the first half with a 26-point lead and finished the first half 51 to 25 over Lightning.

Uni Rebels protection of the basket was on point in the third quarter and Lightning could not find away to crack Rebels' defense. Rebels Men's offense was supported by Daniel Green (15pts) and 13 rebounds 2 steals 2 blocks, Adrian Murphy (6pts) and 5 rebounds and new Rebels big man Jonathon Miles (6pts) and 8 rebounds that gave Uni Rebels a 32-point advantage going in to the fourth quarter 74 to 42.

Team Captain Jake Kirby (17pts) also chipped in 3 assists and 8 steals, hit four three pointers in a row in the fourth quarter. Uni Rebels Men's solid over all game helped them cruised past Lightning for the win and finished the game 100 to 60. Rebels League Men's next game will be against Eagles this Thursrday night at 7:00pm on Crt 1.
