Practice Match 3 - Results

This weeks round practice matches began on Saturday at Preston when our newly formed U18's team took on Preston. The game started at a break neck speed with the home team piling on the pressure as well as the goals. At quarter time Preston had control of the game however from this point on the game was played very evenly over all parts of the ground. Therry went down in the end by a margin of around 5 goals but pla a very high standard of football. The best players included Damien Ratcliffe, Brenton and Jarrod Egglestone as well as Jason McMahon.

On Sunday Therry seniors, reserves and u19's had practice games also. The day started off with the under 19's squaring off with Rupertswood u19's. The game was played at a high standard in ideal conditions. The game was goal for goal up until the 3rd quarter before Therry blew Rupertswood away to go on and score comfortably. Backing up from the day before Brenton Egglestone was a standout again with Ben Ratcliffe and Pete 'Pedro' McRae also contributing strongly.

Therry Reserves were next to have a hit-out against the D1 side South Melbourne. From the outset the game was a hard hitting encounter played in windy conditions. Therry took control from an early stage before South Melbourne Rallied in the Third and final Quarter. However Therry's big men proved the difference in the final term to run out 4 goal winners. Gareth Henderson, Lee Hollow and Jarrod Belsey were amonst the best.

The final game of the day was perhaps the most exciting. Therry vs South Melbourne Seniors. The game was opened up early by South Melbourne getting away to an early lead. Throughout the day they were able to hold this lead up until the last Quarter where the dynamic duo in brothers Dan and Jarryd Hanlon nearly stole the game. In the end Therry went down by a goal. Mick Muldoon, Mark Faroldi, Jarryd Hanlon and were Therry's best.
