Let’s get straight to the point……………..You little (expletive removed) RIPPER!
Can you BELIEVE that day we had last Saturday?
The coaches can talk about the tactics. I just want to talk about the win.
We could smell something in the air over the last few weeks and by god come Saturday at 2.00pm it was pungent.
What an amazing feeling to get our first win. I personally would never have thought, nor have I ever experienced, a normal round of football that was so emotional on so many levels.
It wasn’t just a win - it was a game where we proved to ourselves what 100% commitment, endurance, will power and true BELIEF can do.
You boys got your just rewards on Saturday and everyone there had the privilege of seeing the Burra in true flight.
Talk about “Special” Bruce – it was EXCEPTIONAL.
With the final siren still sounding the supporters, 19’s and Ressies spilled onto the ground in scenes of grand final hysteria. I can honestly say I have never in my life experienced such an emotional day in football.
In the packed rooms following, the song was sung out with such fervor never heard in the annals of St Mary’s. If you haven’t listened to the song on “youtube” yet go there now and relive the experience. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWnJdjG89y4 UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I wouldn’t expect outsiders to quite understand what Saturday meant to us and the players. But to those of us there and for those of us who have ridden the roller coaster, it was an experience never to be forgotten.
Thank you to you all players, Kym, Phil support staff, supporters, members and committee for making the day one never to be forgotten.
It just proves – “BELIEVE AND THE EXCEPTIONAL WILL HAPPEN”
The Ressies were also great on Saturday. Not easy to take the field against a side much stronger and with finals in sight. But you guys played out the game to your credit and never gave an inch. Remember guys it wasn’t that long ago the 1sts were copping it from other teams as well. Self belief is an amazing thing and I know recognition and reward for you guys will happen.
The 19’s were very good again on Saturday and played pretty much to Ian’s game plan. Keep doing what Ian tells you guys and set yourself for a big 7 or 8 weeks. With Finals around the corner, you boys need to keep vigilant, focused and purposeful and success will follow.
Well done to our club last Saturday as we passed another milestone for our club.
GO THE MIGHTY BURRA!
