Depth Crucial for Success in 2013

The White Eagles have a quality mix now in both grades but its depth that will be required to ensure consistency and a competitive edge is upheld for the full season when times like injury, suspension and form plays a part in both 1st Grade & Youth Grade in 2013.

So far this season the White Eagles have lost a hand full of players with either a poor attitude, injury or realeased to a higher league.

American Goalkeeper - Jordan Jennings was recruited as a back up to 1st team keeper Adam Rodriguez but found himself asked to trial for a NSW Premier League club and he successfully got recruited to the higher league and has starred in his first start. Albion Park White Eagles have always said we would not stand in the way of any player to go to a higher league but it was dissapointing not to have seen Jordan prove himself with Albion Park and in our League first but he was releaesed with the blessing of the club.

In contrast we have been able to bring to the club Mark Picciolini (Sponsored by NSW Compensation Lawyers) from the NSW Premier League who alongside our No.9 Paul Ryrie will terrorise opposition defenders this year. It was great to see the two players both get a brace last week and both were unlucky to not score a hat-trick. Hot on the heels of both Picciolini and Ryrie and versatile to play in almost every attacking position is 2013 new recruit Jonathan Ramos. It's players like Ramos who along with almost 10 other players who are on fringe pushing to start in first grade which is a healthy environment at Albion Park this season.

The secret to the success is how they are handled. The disappointment of not being a first team starter is not lost on anyone at the club but in football as is life you must work hard and wait for your chance and when you do - grab it with both hands.

It's exciting times at the White Eagles, we have a great group of quality players and an even greater group of future champions. They have age on their side too!

The club will miss long term injured Daniel Ferraro (ACL) and Ryan Olender (Ankle) as well as Jordan Jennings (NSW Premier League) but it's the depth to lose such quality players and have the confidence not only in their replacements but also self confidence that will see a rewarding year for the club.
