Despite the lack of success experienced by the touring Irish Rugby team against the All Blacks(60-0 really makes you forget how close the second game was), the Christchurch Bulldogs have been on the lookout for Irish talent to bolster their playing stocks for season 2012.
The success of their 2011 Irish recruit, Steve McCarron, has sent the Bulldog administration on the hunt for more similarly skilled and enthusiastic Irishmen with two more Gaelic brethren having been unearthed thus far, Killian Egan and Dave Cronin. Dave has previously played AFL and Killian is another Gaelic football convert looking to make a successful transition to the Australian game.
Pre-season trainings are about to enter full force with last year's New Zealand national championship winning coach of the Canterbury Cobras, Harry Peterson, coming on board to lead the Red and Black (with a hint of green) army on their quest for Saturday supremacy. Harry's many years of footballing experience will be called on to assist in the development of this year's team to once again set the benchmark for the Canterbury Australian Football League season.
