An eight goal final term against fierce rivals the Eastern Blues has propelled the Christchurch Bulldogs a game clear on top of the ladder after seven hotly contested rounds. The reunion of the big guns and return of Alex Frew and Ash Smith was celebrated with a win that puts the bulldogs in prime position to finish top of the ladder and secure a Grand Final berth.
The addition of Jared Percival and Brad Mavor to the forward line has created a lethal goal scoring side capable of ripping opposition defenders to pieces. JP's celebratory run is becoming a welcome sight and is sure to spawn imitators throughout the rest of the season. The unassuming manner of Brad Mavor is made up for by his hard working forward pocket, Dean 'mad dog' Smith.
With hard work over the next two weeks the Bulldogs side can take the minor premiership and get one step closer to defending their championship of the year before. More to follow. . . after golf.
