History is waiting to be made in the last round of the 2014 CAFL season, with the Christchurch Bulldogs needing to win against the Mid Canterbury Eagles to be the first team to qualify for seven consecutive deciders.
Coach Harry Peterson is expecting a full turnout at training with positions being hot property after another full team performance in the previous week's big win over the Cougars.
A number of niggling injuries have started to take their toll but everyone will be fighting tooth and nail to keep their spot should the Bulldogs make the Grand Final as expected.
Key Bulldog Mitch Harding will take ancient Chinese medicines if it means he will be fit for finals footy. His Brother Hootie has also put his hand up, making a return to the red and black jumper while sporting the latest haircut trend, the top-pony-tail.
Haircuts and injuries aside, the Bulldogs will be expected to make a very strong showing against the Eagles if they are to confirm themselves as premiership fancies and there will certainly be no room for complacency in the final round clash.
Time for the whole team to step up a notch as the finals loom and one team showers themselves in glory for another year. Back-to-back and immortality beckon (melodramatic much?).
