GREETING TO ALL OUR SPONSORS FOR ROUND 8.
We are back to the Waterwheel Tavern for awards tonight starting at 7pm.
Congratulations to Jacob O Donnell and his partner Jaz on the birth of their baby Ivy Jane. All well.
It was an interesting day at Lucknow last Saturday with the Seagulls collecting five wins from nine matches.
Footballers and netballers were greeted by four seasons and it played a part in some results.
The seniors got their fourth win of the season and have secured a spot in the top four, beating the Magpies by 27 points. Joel Waters had it on a string and Lyell Berry impressed in his first match with nephews James and Jesse Beha.
The twos were convincing, winning by 57 points. The Sproules dominated with Rowan bagging four and Bobby racking up the possessions.
The under 18s trailed from the outset and were unable to chase down Lucknow, losing by 24 points. Young Shagga was best on with under 16 player Jesse Guarnaccia booting three. Daisy picked up the previous round's spirit of sport medal with Kurto winning the encouragement award.
Hacky's under 16s can do no wrong, remaining undefeated with a 84-point win. Reggie Saunders kicked three and Kev Bell was outstanding.
The Tambo Waste "A" graders were unable to get their first win, losing by 24 goals in wet conditions. Sammy and Sheree were the best players.
Betta Home Living "B" grade held onto top spot with a thrilling five-goal win after a slow start. Tiarnie, Brooke and Lindy were outstanding.
Barling Family "C" grade was at its brilliant best, smashing the Magpies 48-14. Jamieson was best on court with Tayla and Kylie also impressive.
It was a different story for Rivex "C" Reserve, overpowered by 25 goals. Kaitlin continued her good season and Shanae played well.
Greg Dear Accounting "D" grade threw away a golden opportunity, losing by a solitary goal after leading in the last quarter. Georgia Reggardo, Mia Fountain and Zoe Carr battled hard.

The word of the coach.
A well-constructed win with a few heart flutters along the way.
Once again our first half was very good and the second was eventually productive.
Jessie Beha in the ruck gave us great drive at ball ups and around the ground. Joel Waters and Andrew Phelan were very good all day. It’s great to see Toby and Dylan Patten playing their role as nuggetty backmen and were very effective.
We had the lapse after the long break but what was pleasing was that the boys dug deep in the back of the third quarter and pulled away again.
A sign of a good team is when the on field leaders can produce results during the game after unplanned hiccups occur.
Special thanks to Jim B, Lyle Berry and Lachlan Buck for playing important roles on the day.
This week we take on Orbost (there).
Jim B, Lyle Berry, Lachlan Buck all go back to their respective teams. Critta is out also.
In comes big Will Bushby, Gary Kramme, Callum Anketell and Jake Dollman for his first game of seniors.
Matt Duggins plays his last game this week before heading off to a new life in QLD. We wish him all the best and thank him for his services to the club.
Finally I would like to thank Keith Richardson (and Nicky his wife) for his achievements at the tribunal this week. Shane Tuck was up for the Pescod incident that happened on Good Friday. Like a dog with a bone Schreky spent many hours analysing witness statements. It all worked out well with the panel finding Shane not guilty of all charges.
GO SEAGULLS.
