LOCKINGTON-Bamawm United celebrated a fourth-consecutive Heathcote District Football League under-17s premiership on Saturday.
The Cats comfortably defeated Huntly by 60 points, 11.14 (80) to 3.2 (20), as their remarkable dynasty continued.
The Matthew Jenkins-coached Cats broke the game open in the second term after they had led by just two points at quarter-time, 1.2 to 1.0.
However, in the second term the Cats piled on 6.1 to 0.1 to establish a 38-point lead at half-time.
It was a decisive break in the tough conditions at Colbinabbin’s M.J. Morgan Oval.
The Cats maintained control after the main break, adding 4.11 to 2.1 in the second half.
The comprehensive win capped a dominant season in which the Cats lost just one game, which had been to Huntly by nine points in round 15.

The VCFL Medal for best on ground went to the Cats’ Jeremy Mundie, who booted five goals.
Also among the best for the Cats – who since the start of 2007 have won 70 of 73 games – were captain Hayden Chappel, Terrence Reeves, Gavin Broad (three goals), Luke Bish and Marcus Angove.
The Hawks were well led by Jaydon Cowling, Brett Quin, captain Joshua Homewood, Jack Daley, Colby Mountjoy and Luke Nash.
Daniel Ryrie kicked two of Huntly’s three goals.
With their defeat, the Hawks’ last under-17 premiershp remains 2002, when they went through the season undefeated.
