One of the last official events of the 2014 season was held this past weekend as around 45 Dingos and family gathered for the club's annual Awards Night. Held at Joy Bistro on Queen St, the Dingos were looking to ease the memories of a disappointing season. The night did not disappoint as the Dingos were in high spirits, with MC Spider Wells taking them through the night's vote count and individual award presentations.
Some highlights:
- Tom Humphries winning the inaugural Player's Player Award, only to be ambushed by Wado and Robbo into answering ten questions regarding his fellow players. Few responses were close to the mark.
- Dave Wells and Bobby Clarke being honoured as newly-inducted Life Members of the club for their years of overwhelming service and contributions to the club.
- Gary Conlon assuring everyone that, while he is not dying, he doesn't have much time left and was therefore pleased to win the Coach's Award.
- With the Dingos' Division 1 Best & Fairest Award being renamed in honour of longtime Dingo Craig Stewart, the former President couldn't resist sending a video of himself from Australia, congratulating the first winners of the Stewart Award, Alex Aitken (Aus) and Tom Bell (Can).
