FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As a board, we often are asked similar questions from multiple players / parents. Whilst no question is a silly question and we welcome you to contact us, the following may assist.

How Much Does It Cost to Play for The Taree Wildcats?

There are several costs to consider:

 Registration Fees,

  • Game Fees,

  • Clothing, &

  • Transport.

 Registration Fees

 Registration fees vary with age. 5 - 7 year olds are $70.00. 8 – 11 year olds are $95.00. 12 – 18 year olds are $115.00. 19+ year olds are $210.

The is a $10.00 discount available for second and subsequent players in an immediate family (if you pay online we need to refund the discount manually).

It is important to note that from a club point of view we see registration fees as a neutral cash flow situation. The majority of the fees flow to Football Mid North Coast, Football NSW and Football Federation Australia to cover their operating costs, insurance etc. This is fully disclosed in the registration process. For example for a 6 year old child $67.00 is passed on leaving $3.00 for the club.

Game Fees

Games Fees are an important cash flow source for the club. Game fees along with other revenue sources (canteen and sponsorship) are are what allows us to 'keep the lights on'. The revenue goes to such things as purchasing team shirts, power, referee fees, garbage collection etc.

We have not set the fees for 2015 as yet. This will be done closer to the start of the season. As a guide in 2014 5 – 11 years olds paid $3 per game, 12 – 18 year olds paid $5 per game, Adults paid $7 per game and Premier League Paid $8 per game. Any changes to these levels will be communicated at a later date.

 Clothing

It is a requirement to purchase shorts ($30) and socks ($15) from the club. There is no change in strip this year so last years clothes are still acceptable to us if you still have them.

The jersey belongs to the club and the coach will collect and provide each week.

Football Shoes are to be worn as are shin pads. These are not sold by the club. I note under 5 – 7 year olds will be given shin pads by a sponsor prior to the season starting.

Transport

It is your responsibility and cost to arrange transport to training and the games.

When and Where are the Games Played?

Games for children are generally on a Saturday morning. Adults are Saturday afternoons.

Make up games do sometimes occur (usually on a Sunday) for rainy seasons.

Home games are at Omaru Park in Muldoon Street Taree.

Away games are:

5 – 9 Year Olds Wingham, Tinonee, Old Bar, Moorland, Cundletown

10 – 18 Year Olds Wingham, Tinonee, Old Bar, Moorland, Cundletown, Hallidays Point,

Nabiac, Forster, Pacific Palms

 When and Where is Training?

Training will be held at Omaru Park in Muldoon Street Taree. Once we allocate you to a team, the coach will contact you to arrange the training date. Generally speaking, training is once a week and is either a, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

How Old Does My Child Need to Be to Register?

Your child needs to turn 5 in the 2015 Calender Year to register.

Coaching / Managing - Is therean opportunity for me to assist with coach my Childs Team?

Definitely. To express an interest in assisting, please email us at tareewildcats@gmail.com with your details.

Will my child be with the same coach / team mates as last year?

We do our best to accommodate this. This is achieved in probably 85% of cases. Sometimes teams need to merge (often happens when field sizes / numbers on teams change with age).

Our policy is that if a team needs to be broken up for numbers, that the team with the least registrations is generally the team that this occur to.

What Obligations are on me as a Parent

We will communicate at a later date codes of conduct for parents. Generally the only additional obligation is to assist in the canteen. Each team will help in the canteen 3 or 4 times a year for up to one hour.

 When Does the Season Start?

This is yet to be confirmed by Football Mid North Coast. Generally speaking games for children start the weekend before public schools start in term 2.

 How do I register?
