Wolves 50/50 for the weekend

The Wolves U18 side started with a full complement of players but unfortunately without Coach Deano out with tonsillitis. With Scott Pettersson and Rod Wills at the helm the young Wolves showed plenty of determination but were outplayed by the undefeated Southern Power. Best players were Cam Gallo, Harrison Houlihan & Jack Tier.

Our Div 4 team continues in fine form with their third win on the trot, this time with a hard fought 14 pt win v UNSW. Flynn Pettersson was once again outstanding and Scott Addicott kicked 7 goals with Nana (Ben Pine) best players who will all be pushing for promotion up the grades very soon.

Juzza and the Div 2 team couldn't follow up last week's victory and succumbed to Southern Power. Best players were Andy Whitelaw, Matt Byrne and Luke Slobin. We should remember our Div 2 team is playing all the teams our First Division used to play last year so it will take some time to settle our best team and start winning some games on a regular basis.

It was good to once again play against our arch rival of several seasons ago Sydney Uni and better still to record a solid victory by 29 pts without several key players who were injured. Best on ground was Blakey, well supported by Bourkey and Irish plus a bag of 6 goals from spearhead Nathan Darvill. We are now only one game of top spot and will play undefeated UNSW next week.

We look forward to our three games against Mac Uni and also our Div One against UNSW next week, may Footy and the Wolves be the winners.

See you back at the Harbord Diggers for a drink after the game and stay tuned for our next Club function. All details on the Club website www.manlyafl.com
