Wolves competitive for first away round

The Wolves ventured away for the first time this season with three teams playing at Mac Uni and the Div One team going to the Village Green at UNSW.
With a full complement of players and Deano back on deck our U18 side played a determined and courageous brand of footy but lost by the narrowest of margins 1pt, mainly caused by bad goal kicking. Best players were Steven Stapleton, Cam Gallo and Joe Ross with Harrison Houlihan kicking three goals

Our Div 4 team made some rotational changes for this game to give all players some game time. Unfortunately we were unable to overcome Mac Uni and went down by just 11 pts. Flynn Pettersson continued his stellar early season form ably supported by Craig Bigelow and Chris Graham.

The Div 2 boys had the unique opportunity of playing under lights for the first time but unfortunately did not shine long enough for a victory being outgunned by top place Mac Uni side that ran away in the last half. Best players for the Wolves were Webby, Numbat and Wills.

After the training mishap between the Coach and Irish on Thurs night there were some last minute selection changes, the good news is they did not affect the team balance and Div One continued on their winning way with a hard fought 22 pt win over UNSW. Best players were Stroudy, Jase Coleman and Ty. We now sit in third spot and gradually making our way up the ladder.

We welcome Pennant Hills, East Coast Eagles and North West to Pittwater Oval this week, may Footy and the Wolves be the winners. The new club bags looked sensational, reminder to players to finalise fees to collect.

See you back at the Harbord Diggers for a drink after the game and stay tuned for our next Club function. All details on the Club website www.manlyafl.com
