Back to the Future at Weldon

With Pittwater Oval closed, due to the rain during the week, the Wolves had a one off return to Weldon Oval before resurfacing works commence next month. We were able to play Div 2, Div 3 and U18’s games but unfortunately Gore Hill was also closed so we did not play Div 1 against North Shore.

Player numbers were a problem for the U18’s but we managed to give Penrith a contest, however they ran out easy winners on the day. Best Players were Cam Gello, Jack Tier and Ryan Wearne. We are looking forward to a big game next week back at Pittwater Oval, everyone get behind Deano and Rod.

After a slow start the Div 4 boys kicked away with a 4 goal second qtr and went onto to beat Penrith by 30pts. Once again Flynn Pettersson had the ball on a string and dominated the rebound off the backline setting up plenty of opportunities. He was well supported by Adam Conroy and Jack McMahon. They now sit in third spot on the table, a position they want to consolidate.

In a hard fought tussle our Div 2 team went down to Campbelltown by just 15pts, the difference being their 5 goal second quarter that made it difficult to peg back. Jason “Wolf” Murray, Andy Whitelaw and Ben Atkinson were best players with Luke Slobin maintaining his consistent goal kicking with another 3 goals for the game.

The Div One team had a week off with the late closure of Gore Hill so will play North Shore sometime soon, details to be advised.
Thanks to everyone who helped out on Sat with the late change to Weldon, although everyone did agree it was good to be “Home” again.

We welcome Pennant Hills and UTS Bats to Pittwater Oval this week. May Footy and the Wolves be the winners. We look to a successful Ladies Day this week, everybody is welcome.

See you back at the Harbord Diggers for a drink after the game and don’t forget to confirm your registration, as all Wolves memberships entitle you to Diggers membership.
