Returning to Pittwater Oval for all home games, unfortunately the rain continued
on the day limiting the skills display but it was great footy all the same. The
conditions however did not disrupt our annual Ladies Day function as the unsung
heroes of all Footy Clubs enjoyed themselves under the big top marquee and
raised some much needed funds for the Club.
Once again our U18 boys put
up a brave fight but unfortunately went down to Pennant Hills by 23 pts. Best
Players were Steven Stapleton, Joe Ross and Ryan Wearne with Harrison Houlihan
kicking 4 majors.
After a tough contest in the first half the Div 4 team
kicked away in the second half and went onto to beat old foes UTS by a
comfortable 54pts in a great team effort. Best players in a team effort were big
Craig Bigelow, Ben "Nana" Pine and Benny Fraser who also bagged 3
goals.
The Div 2 team continued their weekly improvement and in
deteriorating conditions got within 22 pts of UTS in a tough hard fought game.
Ben Atkinson, Jason "Wolfy" Murray and Brendan Sinnett were best players.
With almost a full strength team available our Div One team was
determined to balance the ledger after the first round result against arch rival
UTS. In trying conditions the guys put in a sterling effort and despite getting
in front by a few points late in the last quarter went down by just 6pts. Best
players Stroudy once again set up play from the half back line with Pridge
reveling in the conditions and Ty using his pace around the ground with all
other players contributing on the day. As usual we look forward to seeing UTS in
September.
Thanks to everyone who helped out with Ladies Day, a great
success for the Club, so much so we will be having a past players day along
similar lines later in the season, so spread the word.
We only have one
game this week, the wash out Div One game v North Shore. midday at Gore Hill, so
everyone come on down and support Cressa and the boys. May Footy and the Wolves
be the winners.
See you back at the Harbord Diggers for a drink after
the game and don't forget to confirm your registration as all Wolves memberships
entitle you to Diggers membership. All details on the Club website
