Wolves have Trifecta of wins
Being back home at Pittwater was obviously good for the Wolves with all three teams Div 1, 2 & 4 recording convincing wins, the U18’s had a bye, so looks like the Club is up for a free BBQ this Thursday.
Well what a difference a week makes for our Div 4 team after last week’s disappointing result they bounced back with a resounding 255 pt win against Camden putting us back in the four on percentage. The team kicked 41 goals for the match, Scott Addicott had a field day booting 17 majors but there was plenty of support from the midfield. Best players were Chris White, Daniel Mountford and Rob Thomson.
After a few weeks of competitive footy our Div 2 team finally got the victory they deserved beating Camden by 52 pts. Inspired by Coach Juzza who turned back the clock with a solid performance on the ball ably supported by another veteran Claky this could be the turning point as we head for the finals. Other good players were Ben Atkinson and Ben Young.
With a 6 goal first quarter and a consistent effort all the way through the game from the Div 1 team resulted in a very comfortable 126 pt win. Blakey switched up forward provided a 7 goal result supported by the consistent Nathan Darvill with four goals providing good targets for our dominant midfield of Levi Brain, Ty Armitage and David Stroud.
The above results place the Wolves in a good position for the Season overall but the challenge is to maintain this winning form over the next 7 weeks and reach the finals in all grades.
Our Social calendar has changed so please note the following dates
25 July – Roaring 20’s Gaming night (Manly Bowling Club)
1 August – Call to Arms Day & Past Players (Pittwater Oval)
We are again spread all over Sydney this week including a night game v ECE. May Footy and the Wolves be the winners.
See you back at the Harbord Diggers for a drink after the game and don’t forget to confirm your registration as all Wolves memberships entitle you to Diggers membership.
