Wolves only highlight at night
On a day when one is reminded of Willie Nelson’s song “On the Road Again” the Wolves travelled to all parts of Sydney for games from an 8.30am at Village Green, UNSW to a 6.30pm start at Bruce Purser, Rouse Hill.
Disappointing start to the day with our Div 4 boys kicking 13 points before registering their first major for the day in the 3rd quarter. Despite being less than 3 goals behind at half time they were run over by Uni NSW who kicked 10 goals to 4 in the second half. Best players for the Wolves were Craig Bigelow, David Peterson and Chris White.
Our U18’s and Div 2 teams travelled south to play Southern Sharks and unfortunately it was not pretty, with the U18’s having to forfeit due to lack of numbers again. The Div 2 team was totally outclassed and did not manage a major for the game, very embarrassing. Best Players were Ben Hawkins, Chris Hickford and Ben Young. Hopefully the boys get behind Juzza and start getting some results on the board for the rest of the season.
Finally on this long day for the Club we played our Div 1 game against 3rd place getters East Coast Eagles under lights out at Bruce Purser Reserve. In a very tight contest all night the lead changed hands many times, however the Wolves ran away in the last quarter with 6 goals. Nathan Darvill continued his fine form with five goals and a best on ground performance with young Levi Brain providing another target up front kicking 3, David Stroud and Craig Pridgeon were also good players in a great team result.

Another split round of fixtures coming up this weekend with a Div 1 game v Syd Uni on Sat and the other 3 games on Sunday morning.
