Legends Call it a day

Saturday was the last time we’ll see Steve Mahar and Brock Weston running round in the black white and teal, both players announcing their retirement from senior football.

It was a cracking way to go out – both being pivotal in Belconnen prevailing in the tight contest.  Brock kicked what ended up being the winning goal while Steve was swung into the ruck in the last quarter and was instrumental in providing the Pies with the drive and determination needed to get them over the line.

Anyone stepping into the senior side in 2010 is going to have massive shoes to fill to walk in the steps of these club champions.  Mahary and Brock – we wish you all the best in your retirement but hope to see you back round the club in some capacity in the coming years.
