In the Box 2010 - Assistant Coach Applications

Broadbeach Senior Football Club participates at the elite level in the QAFL. We are one of three clubs on the Gold Coast, the others being Southport and Labrador,  who compete with 6 Brisbane based clubs and the Northern Territory for the Velocity Sports Cup. The club has a proud history since its inception in 1970 in the Gold Coast Australian Football League and its promotion to the QAFL State League in 1997.

The club is looking forward to reaping the benefits of the ground work forced on us in '09 through injury and unexpected clearances. We turned over 50 players in the seniors including sixteen 18 years old or younger (11 debuts); ten 19 year olds (3 debuts); thirteen 20 - 23 year olds (3 debuts) and eleven 24 plus (3 debuts). That is a total of 20 debuts and lot of youth to stalk the the Morningsides of the competition over the next few years.

The Committee and Smithy have identified preferred recruit player profiles and we are pursuing aggresively those player types. We hope to build on the  player acknowledged excellent club culture and to maximise the enjoyment factor through on and off-field performance improvement of the 'Family Club' that is Broadbeach.

In addition to launching a more elaborate approach to sponsorship for season 2010 and beyond we have made application for grant assistance for purchase of SportsPerformer software that will assist coaches in player development, team feedback, one-on-one instruction, and game preparation. Should the grant monies not eventuate we are committed to the purchase anyway. More on the software and its capabilities at a later date - it is  but one indicator of a committment to a more 'professional' approach.

Should you have any interest in going places with a club that is intent on achieving its rhetoric for existence, please contact Bob or Smithy directly. Any email Expressions of Interest providing further information on yourself should be sent to Bob at bwalters@aflq.com.au or Smithy on asmit159@eq.edu.au
