USA Coaches Development Tour
The Sunbury Basketball Association is pleased to announce it will be hosting a Coaches Development Tour to the USA later this year (October). The SBA has partnered with Gulliver’s Sports Travels for this tour. We are currently calling for expressions of interest so the tour can go ahead.
I will be the tour manager for this tour. I have been the tour manager for this tour in the past and have found it highly beneficial for my coaching education and development as well as for networking and employment opportunities.
In past the tour has provided the following sessions to our coaches.
· Coach “K” Clinic at Duke University
· Coach Roy Williams Clinic at University of North Carolina
· Private session with UCLA coaching staff and tour of the John Wooden museum.
· Watch practice sessions at Virginia Tech, University of Richmond, University of Virginia, University of South Carolina and Wake Forest
· Visit practice sessions of various Division 1, Division 2 and NAIA colleges
· Private coaching session and facility tour of the L.A Clippers NBA franchise
· Coaching session with Vance Walberg the creator of the Dribble Drive Offense
· Coaching session with Rick Torbett the creator of the Read and React offence.
This year’s tour is in the draft planning stages as most college coaches won’t confirm their schedule til mid way through the American summer.
I have attached the 2013 itinerary as a guide only. The tour schedule and most importantly the cost will change and will ultimately depend on the number of coaches we have express interest. The attached is just to give you an idea of what the tour looks like.
If you are interested in going on the trip please let me know by Friday 15th of May so we can draft a schedule and lock in a cost.
I know this is fairly late notice but it was too good an opportunity not to offer to you all.
