It is a condition of registration with the Griffins that players, officials and spectators must abide by the National Code of Conduct - click on more to read. We have had isolated incidents where some of our young referees have had abuse shouted their way. Many of these are in their first year as signified by a jersey with "Referee In Training" on it. Remember without referees NO GAMES ARE PLAYED.

Note: The club will pay for 2 gala days at other venues plus our own gala day.

This year our U/13's & U/15's will be travelling down to State of Origin Game 1 on the 5th June. They are offering a very limited number of spare seats on the bus for people who have organised their own tickets to the game. Cost for return transport only to Origin from King Edward Park is $25 per person. Please contact Meg Vile on 0431 702 887 if you would like to book a seat on one of the buses.

Regrading has now occurred so season draws are more accurate, however washouts or team withdrawals can effect them. Draws are published the week leading up to each game. Always check them on our website/facebook page. Changes are often made to association draws at short notice which sometimes don't show on their websites. Game times are scheduled WEEKLY and are often NOT CORRECT for future rounds.

The Footy Show this week featured the traditional test matches between East Maitland Griffins and Ipswich Diggers U/11's & U/12's teams. The tour is celebrating it's 40th anniversary.

Due to some confusion below are game times for each age.

U6-8's 3x10 min with 2x3 min breaks
U/9-12's 2x20 min with 5 min break
U/13-14's 2x25 min with 5 min break
U/15-17's 2x30 min with 5 min break

Please also note that THERE IS NO TIME OFF (even when the referee signals so) except for:

IF THE GROUND OFFICIAL HAS TO CONTROL DISTURBANCES IN THE CROWD
and
FINALS SERIES MATCHES

In a few weeks the club will have our very own scoreboard. The score and timer panels are all portable and battery operated therefore they can be locked away after games. The new Griffins scoreboard has been made possible through generous sponsorship provided by Valley Tyres and In Properties For Investors. Stay tuned for further details.

Don't forget Friday night raffles are still on at the Bank Hotel ALL YEAR ROUND (yes - including the off season). If anyone can give the committee a hand on these nights starting 6:15pm it would be greatly appreciated.
