Under 18's vs Cowra
The scene was set for this game when CYMS dropped the ball from the kickoff and in the next set of six Cowra posted the first try of the match. CYMS got themselves back on track when Cameron Jones Slipped a lovely offload to put Tom Satterswaite through the gap and a clear run to the try line. CYMS extended their lead when Jed Beasley darted out from dummy half and surprised the defence who were left grasping at air. Cowra came back with the next try, the Harrison Mueller burst threough the defence and offloaded to a flying Tom Satterswaite who scored his second try under the posts. Just before halftime CYMS dropped the ball in a heavy tackle just out from our line. The Cowra player picked up the ball and strolled over for an easy try that tied the score at 16 all at the break.
Cowra posted first points in the second half when CYMS dropped the ball in a tackle and the Cowra player kicked it through to score. CYMS hit back with a lovely backline movement that saw Hayden Spencer score in the corner and the game was poised at CYMS 20 Cowra 22. In the final part of the game CYMS mistakes cost them dearly. They dropped the ball and from the ensuing scrum Cowra raced away to score and take an 8 point lead. with less than 5 minutes to go CYMS had a scrum feed close to the Cowra line and dropped the ball from the scrum win. The final score was CYMS 20 Cowra 28.
CYMS now hold 4th spot on the ladder with the final game of the rounds coming up. They play St Pats who are currently in third place. A big effort needed for this one boys!
