YM has players in action in 4 countries and 3 continents at the moment! Graeme Begbie, Eddie Ockenden, Fiona Johnson, Stacia Joseph, Matt Boyce and Paige Collins are all on Australian tours.
Graeme Begbie has made his debut on the Kookaburras European tour. For pictures see the Gallery page. Graeme is on tour with Eddie Ockenden, who returns to Australian shores and YM colours in a few weeks. Both Eddie and Graeme have been named in the best players during their matches against France and Germany. They are now playing in the Hamburg Masters against Netherland, Germany and England who have another YM player in the lineup - our AHG top goal scorer in 2008, Simon Egerton.
Stacia Joseph and Fi Johnson are in Durban at the moment playing in the SPAR cup. After two wins against South Africa and a 7-0 thrashing of India in the lead up matches they have recorded a win against India and a draw against world number 2, Argentina in the main event. A win or a draw against South Africa will see them through to the final.
Paige Collins is currently on tour in Japan playing with the Jillaroos (the Australian U21 team) in a 5 match series against the Japanese senior team. This is the last chance for players to stake their claim before the Womens Junior World Cup team to compete in Boston in August is named.
Matt Boyce is only days away from the start of the Mens Junior World Cup in Singapore and Malaysia. Australia are drawn with Chile, Japan, Germany and South Africa and need to finish in the top 2 of their pool to proceed further in the tournament.
