The boys came out firing showing they meant business. The Loewe,Lille,Harvey, Brown and Voss midfield combination was working brilliantly, while Sec and Hammer were proving key defenders. We kicked eight goals for the quarter and I cant remember the last time we did that. (52 vs 14).

The visitors came back in the second quarter but we took a handy 25 point lead into the main break. Vossy kicked 3 for the third quarter which proved telling in the context of the game. The defence was brilliant - a young brigade but clearly focused. Stef Erikson continued his excellent form while Eddie Limon has also been great. St Bernards only managed four behinds for the quarter.

So we went into the last quarter with 49 point lead. Lethargy did set in and a couple oldies were rested for much of the last quarter which meant the lead was whittled away. But we were always in control and the faithful were looking forward to another long awaited version of the team song. It was a great team performance - another victory against the top side - illustrated by the number of goal kickers. This is proving to be a very unusual but even season in this division. There were upsets everywhere on the weekend and more performances like that from the Mighty Bloods and we can start thinking finals.

The U/19s were defeated by Ormond on the weekend, going down by 37 points. Ditch has taken what he has learnt in the Seniors to the U/19s and is playing good footy. Sam Jenke kicked his first goals for the club while Schoey and Jack Steen were also amongst the best. The boys are being much more competitive as the season progresses and as players become available.

The seconds went down against St Bernards. Like the Seniors, their first 15 minutes was tremendous but they were unable to maintain the pressure and the visitors were able to record a comfortable victory.
