The prelude to the 2010 season is nearly over. Participation at training has been fantastic and a credit to the coaching team to have planned and executed our pre-season so well. I know from my discussions with coaching staff at A Grade clubs that our numbers and dedication more than meets what they expect of their players. Whilst the coaching team have done a great job on planning and executing, the playing group are to be congratulated for stepping up the level of professionalism and commitment to pre-season. To quote Running Robbo – “Money in the Bank!”
With such a fantastic turn up for playing numbers the club has again entered four senior teams and an Under 19 side into the competition, making the Mighty Friars one of the largest clubs in the VAFA. We want to make sure we stay that way, but to do so need match day support for all our teams.
Off the field it’s terrific to announce Smith Feutrill have again committed to being our major sponsor for the 2010 season. With Greg Feutrill being one of the four directors, Smith Feutrill are Business Advisors providing accounting, taxation and other business services and are great supporters of the Friars. This year they have also invited all Friars, family and friends to join their AFL Tipping Competition (additional details in the “Sponsor’s Corner” section of this e-mail). We really value the support from Smith Feutrill and encourage any supporters requiring business advisory or taxation services to see how they can assist.
On a final note for this bulletin, a massive thanks to Stephen Dullens who has taken up the responsibility for putting this newsletter together. This goes alongside the fantastic work he has done in setting up our Facebook page and aligning it with our web page
www.friarsfooty.com.au.Go Friars in 2010 (our next premiership year!)
