What a year it has been, judged by many to be the most successful for the Townsville City Lions AFL Club in recent history.
With a very hard working & committed committee, we have achieved a significant amount of work that has enhanced the club, with a clear vision and the highest standards where possible.
The following list gives just a small example of not only what was achieved year to date, but more importantly the direction of where club is going for its continued success, long term development, for our community and the AFL league will be proud of.

- Over 120 senior player registrations

- The club provided a qualified physiotherapist at every game
- Set up full medical recovery programs for every injured player with great assistance from Sam Badman
- Meals for players every Thursday night during team announcements, thanks to Sharon Badman
- Awarded Bronze level in the Swisse Quality Club Program
- Granted Level 2 in the Good Sport Program
- Our Club President Awarded the League Volunteer of the Year – Jonny Freeman
- Our Club Secretary Awarded the Senior Volunteer of the year – Maurie Soars
- Guy Badman (Committee member and Reserves coach) Instrumental in the coordination of the NAB Cup Game
- Our Senior Coach Andy Pethybridge coached the Military Team as the curtain raiser to the NAB Cup and won all Australian at the recent Darwin Masters Nationals
- Additional Ground Improvements including popup sprinklers, New shelters, coach boxes, score board moved and improved thanks to the Brodie Malthouse Foundation
- Internet Banking introduced to the club
- Supported a number of community engagement BBQ’s including the Townsville City Council Family day, Meet the V8 drivers at Currajong Tyre and Auto and Players sponsored day at AMART.
