Even though it wasn't our best performance we managed to end our recent losing streak by beating South Mildura last Saturday. South Mildura was very competitive and at times they made us look slow and 2nd rate. However there were times when we put together some good passages of play and followed our game plan, but these were few and far between. When we stick to our plan and play the quick brand of footy we are after we look good and are hard to stop. We will continue to work on this at training throughout the week as we prepare for Merbein. It was great to have a win in all three grades last Saturday and it certainly relieves some pressure, for the moment. Even more encouraging is to see blokes in the reserves put their hand up and play well to try and earn a senior spot. We have Merbein this week followed by a break for the split round. As a playing group we will all have a break away from the footy club and be given chance to refresh and reset in preparation for the final leg of the season. I would like to reiterate what I said last week. We need positive people around our club all the time. I encourage constructive criticism and honest attempts at helping our club be more professional and inturn having more success. What I won't tolerate is cheap shots at players, coaching staff and other members of our club. Mostly this type of unconstructive feedback comes from someone who rarely is seen at the club and therefore has little or no idea on what we are trying to do.
I urge all supporters, friends and family to stick with us as we embark on the last 5 or 6 games of the season. We appreciate your support so much. It is a real advantage for Robinvale!
