Young Stingrays U14 Squad Announced
After a very successful Skill Day this week held at the Carrara Stadium, the 2009 U14 Young Stingrays Initial Squad has been announced today.
Throughout the Skill Day almost 100 players aged 13 and 14 from all 10 Gold Coast Junior Clubs and 7 Northern Rivers Clubs were put through their paces, which included fitness testing (speed, agility, endurance and power), skill testing (kicking, handballing, marking and below the knees) and games.
All players can be proud of their efforts on the day including those who have missed out on selection and we hope that you all can continue to develop and enjoy your football. All Clubs can also be proud of the way the players represented your Club.
Congratulations to the following players listed below. All players and parents are required to attend a Training and Orientation Session on Monday, April 20, 2009 at Carrara Stadium from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. This will also include a Junior Umpire Session, which the players are to complete to allow them to umpire Junior Football as part of their development.
This is an initial squad only and players will be added and deleted as the program continues and we are able to view Club games. This squad will eventually be reduced to 25 for the State Championships held at Surfers Paradise AFC from June 29 to July 3 in the next school holidays.
