Drawing and having to play in extra time the girls fought till the end. Unfortunately Kerang managed to get a 2 goal break which the girls couldn't get back.

Struggling in the first quarter they held their heads and fought back against a determined Mallee Eagles side.
To their credit they remained in control for the rest of the game and came away with a strong win.

Around 5 years ago the United club had Tommy and Hafey enterprises assist with training and purchased some memorabilia from him. He has always remained in contact with the club. Each year a phone call and a genuine conversation about how we are travelling.

Its that time again where we start organising the Fishing Comp.
Meeting to be held on 20th November 2013 at 7.30pm at the clubrooms.

Ash has served as coach since returning to the club and has been a wonderful role model to the many young players he has mentored.
His influence in the senior team will be measured for some years with the these players now showing the potential to see some success and finals action in the future.

Monday 16th April will see DJ White and two new recruits arrive from up north. Shannon Rioli and Jack Long will join the club for the season. DJ has been a huge asset to us in assisting with recruitment and we are very please to welcome there players into the club.
Coming from soem famous football families they will be a huge asset to us and will have fantastic support from our local players and recruits.
This could be a pretty good year on the track - lets all show our support.
Saturday 14th April was the Annual Deb Ball for United.
Ist Deb for the season and a great way to kick off a big year for the club.
Thanks to Carolyn Duffy and KAtie Walters who did a wonderful job of the entire deb. The Harry Potter theme was terrific and those little wizards where fantastic. Well done ladies great effort.
Well done to all the Debs as well. Very well behaved and terrific bunch of kids.
Thats right. As of next week the Darwin connection will return. Lead by none other that D J White himself. At the moment we are unsure about Marvyns where abouts but hopefully he will return.
Returning along with DJ this year will be Troy Parker. Troy played with Marty Shady in Whitchy last year and will be a very handy player once again for us.
If you were watching the night games and the Macorna practice match you would have seen Johnny Bastin wearing No. 3. He is coming to us from the Maryborough league. No. 11 in the pre season games was Matt Duffy. He is the son of Pedro Duffy and comes to us from Darwin as well. Linc Sullivan will jooin us from Nagambie and formerly South Bendigo. Jack Whickham and Jack O'Shaughnessy will join us from the NT league where they have been playing in the Southern Districts club. Great to have the boys in the club.

Last Saturday United travelled down to Macorna for a scratch match in the Netball and Football.
Thanks very much to the Macorna club for their hospitality on the dya. It was a really great turn out for both clubs.
The netballers didn't keep scores but had a good pre season work out against their girls.
In the footy we had to borrow a couple from them to fill a full team and these boys played well for us. Much appreciated.
A good mixture of Colts, Reserves and Seniors participated - a couple of the recruits were able to play as well which was a good training run for them and Coaches Ash Thompson and Marty Shadbolt to see how they perform. We had players travel from Bendigo as well which was terrific.
Things are starting to take shape for a good year. So dont forget to get your membership of club shirts organised now.
the club is again involved in the Tyntynder Night Series.
Come along on Friday 23rd March at 8.40 pm to watch the boys in action. There will be two games earlier if you want to get there and enjoy a cheap nights entertainment.
Netball will also be played.

The 2012 Fishing Comp is looking like being one of the best so far. Entries are coming in and interest is building.
This year we have slightly changed the format and introduced bank fishing, the release of fingerlings and a novelty event - best decorated boat.

Thanks to all the supporters who showed up for membership and registration night on Feb 1st. It was a great night with many signing up to play and organising their membership for the coming season.
If you missed out dont panic there is still time (heaps of time) to get yourself registered and your membership paid off. Remember if you are struggling to make full payment we can work out an option that suits you and your family.

Ash Thompson returns to United as Senior Coach in 2012.
After a career of highlights including playing for Sydney Swans, a former Premiership player in the Demons Back to Back flags and proven as a Premiership Coach in his own right.
He will work with the youth of the club, local players and recruits to develop a competative outfit for 2012.
Assistant Coach will be Marty Shadbolt. Marty also played in the Premiership years and has gone to Coach a premiership team himself.
The two are keen to get working on developing the team and help the club.
Pre Season training will begin at 6pm on Wednesday 30th November at the Nyah Recreation Reserve.
All players are welcome to come along and train. Training will run for 3 weeks then have a break for Christmas.
