On behalf of the entire club, the committee is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Gerry Cunningham as the club's president for this season and possibly for future seasons to come. Gerry’s wealth of experience will contribute to a committee with a strong foundation of long standing and dedicated members. Gerry's ideas are fresh, his knowledge of how to run an executive committee is execeptional and for those of you who don't know him - he is very approachable. Gerry will be outstanding leader of the Garfield Football Club (GFC). The GFC would also like to welcome Karen Brown who has been appointed as the club's treasurer; Karen is working steadily to keep the books balanced and is doing an excellent job! Our club is in a very strong financial position and while Karen is in charge we are sure it will stay that way. Thank you Karen.
A word of praise needs to go to Brent Eastwell and Tom Marsh our senior and assistant coaches, and their recruitment committee for the promising numbers of keen footballers currently attending training. Brent, Tom and crew have worked extremely hard during the off season to ensure that our player numbers are plentiful, diverse in talent and committed to play football. It is safe to say that we have already surpassed the number of people who trained for the entire season in 2009. It is the best way the Club can start a new year in a new league! The excitement around the track suggests that the 'Stars' might be in for a big year, not just on the field but also off it.

There is no doubt Garfield’s transfer into the new league will be watched closely by all EDFL associates, in anticipation of what our club makes of this new opportunity.
Garfield Netball Club
Welcome back to all of our players, families and supporters from 2009 and a big welcome to all the new players joining us this year. It looks to be an exciting season, with the change from West Gippsland Latrobe Netball Association to the Ellinbank and District Netball Association; we will once again be playing local clubs that no doubt will revive old rivalries.
The Club is supported by a dedicated and hard working committee. Marg Bogart, as president, leads a volunteer team who are working to compliment the commitment from all coaches and players. The committee works in collaboration with the Garfield Football Club to provide a sporting club with a recreational and social avenue for the local community.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of the following coaches for season 2010:
A & B Grade Jade Dawes
C Grade Marg Bogart
D Grade (17&U) Casey Dawes
E Grade (15&U) Karly Matthews
F Grade (13&U) Naomi Williams
Training commenced at the beginning of February and the club has experienced overwhelming interest from past and new players wishing to play this year. Training is currently held on Tuesday and Thursday nights but will change as the season commences. Training is compulsory for all seniors & players in the 17’s & under sides and optional for 15’s & under players.
Junior registration was held on 4th February and a full compliment of juniors will be playing netball in 2010.
