Sexton Pavilion Official Opening

In front of invited quests, committees of all the Centrals sporting groups, the Mayor Shane Bourke and councillors, GDFL Executive and Life Members the new revamped and extended Sexton Pavilion was officially opened on Friday evening 2nd October.

The Chairman of the Sporting Club Committee Vince Keogh welcomed official guests and gave a quick overview of Werribee Centrals since inception in 1969 with a football side to now with senior & junior football, cricket and netball all part of this growing club. At last count the club had close to 900 registered players which is a great achievment and something we should all be proud of.

City of Wyndham Mayor Shane Bourke and GDFL President Neville Whitley were both presented with Plaques in recognition of the support both these organisation have made to the redevelopment in both funding and management of the project. Both responded and congratulated the club in making so much difference to the City of Wyndham and its community and being able to grow and prosper as we have done.

The Mayor suggested as we had so many of the Life Members (23) in attendance that a photo be taken as it maybe never again so many have been together at the same time. Photo is attached. For more photos see the gallery section of website.

The wording of the plaques were as follows and shows how we believe the parterships worked to all our benefits.
