Welcome to the web-site of the Winchelsea Football and Netball Club.

During 2009 the WFC was 'on the climb'. After a disastrous 2008 which saw the senior team winless - 2009 was all about laying the foundations that could support a climb up the GDFL ladder. With a new coach in Michael Smith being appointed the senior football side was more than competitive in the GDFL in 2009. After being so close in many games the team won the last three games of the season to show that the club is heading in the right direction moving forward. Already recruiting hard for the 2010 season and with the majority of players hanging around - the 2010 season is one full of promise for the WFC.

2009 also saw the club field an Under 18 side for the first time in many years. Whilst the boys struggled on the scoreboard - a handful of players had their opportunity at senior level and equipped themselves extremely well. This highlights the need for the club to continue with the junior program to ensure the future senior players of the WFC are developed and continue to flow through to senior footy. Our under 14 side also took out the premiership which was a fantastic effort and shows that there is talent coming through the ranks which gives optimism for a bright future with local players to come up and play senior footy following successful junior years.

The A grade netball girls again showed how talented they are in 2009 with a one-point loss in the prelim final. The girls have been knocking on the door of premiership success and hopefully this is not too far away for this group of players. The netballers had the privelge of playing on the new courts this year - a sensational effort by all involved to give our netballers some of the best (if not the best) netball surface in the competition.

All in all, the club has got itself back its feet during 2009 following some hardwork by many people - we look forward to further progress in 2010 and as always are on the lookout for new people to enhance our club culture.
