Practice Match #2 vs Keysborough
On April fool’s day, Good Friday Eve, the club sent its 3 sides to Keysborough for a hit-out under lights. This was the first opportunity for colts and reserves coaches; Scott Williams and Sean Stanton, to test out their sides, and a chance for the seniors to have some redemption for their previous week’s efforts.

Successful Jumper Presentation
Most events at Mulgrave are successful; the 2010 Jumper Presentation was no exception. Held at the Mulgrave Country Club, conveniently in the Mulgrave Room, it was well attended by colts, seniors and supporters of the club. The 120 strong crowd shared some drinks and a meal before the two main activities of the night began.

Practice Match #1 Vs Casey
Practice match 1 for 2010 saw 26 players head to Casey Fields to play a young VFL reserves side. On a beautiful day and an even more beautiful deck, unfortunately we were out run, tackled, played and overall beaten from the outset.

‘Mr Mulgrave’, Mick Arnott has an unbroken and ongoing active involvement in Mulgrave FC for over 60 years. On retiring from playing in 1959 as a dual Premiership player, he immediately immersed himself in club administration, resulting in him being a club Committee member for approximately 30 years.
Previous club Presidents are unanimous in acknowledging Mick’s invaluable contribution to the club. His positive, helpful attitude and continual presence around the club has been described as “the help that’s always there when you need it.” In questioning long term club members about Mick’s club history, the inevitable response is a chuckle and ‘where do I start’. As they delve into fond memories, the essence of Mick’s contribution has been his commitment to help in a 1,000 different ways, primarily in the low profile but essentials jobs that are critical for any organisation to function effectively.
An example of this is his commitment to marking the lines during the football season…for over 40 years. In reflections of a bygone era, Mick initially used white powder to mark lines, and then as ‘technology improved’, he progressed to a paint line marker!
As a player, Mick could often be found helping behind the bar. This role then evolved to becoming the club’s Bar Manager for a period of at least 40 years (memories are sketchy as to whether it was 40 or 50 years!). Through his astute management, boundless energy and social awareness, Mick was able to build the club’s bar to be a well recognised and vibrant social hub for the Mulgrave community, as well as a critical source of income for the club
It is testimony to Mick that both Mulgrave Football and Cricket Clubs unanimously valued his contribution to their clubs by supporting the nomination from the Mulgrave Sporting Club in naming the ‘new’ club pavilion and social room the Mick Arnott Pavilion, which was opened in 1988. As one of the founders of the Mulgrave Sporting Club, Mick was a key figure in the planning, development and establishment of this facility, still being used weekly by the Mulgrave sports community.
In more recent times, Mick is recognised for his helpful presence around the club. He continues to have a managerial involvement in the bar, and is relied on to open and close the club rooms, collect mail, undertake banking and make stack purchases.
Throughout the last 60 years, Mick has been an active and willing financial contributor to the club.
‘Just being there’ is Mick’s legacy to the club. For that, all the members have been richer.

R.I.P Jarrod Fearon-Brown 'Fez' 23/05/84-12/02/10
In the early hours of Friday 12th February 2010, Mulgrave FC lost one of it's favourite sons. Jarrod Fearon-Brown (Fez) was a big part of our club, and the club was a big part of him. He lived for the moment, and lived in the moment. On Friday morning, the moment failed him.
We hoped that 2010 was to be Fez's 6th year at the club.
