Footy’s back for another year with the first practice match next Saturday the 14th March against our old rivals Ferntree Gully. The game is away at Ferntree Gully and will be the first time we have played against each other in 20 years. Further details on this and other practice matches listed below. First game of the season will be on the 11th April away to Heathmont, while the first home game is the 18th April against Silvan. Plenty of new and old faces at training during preseason including new recruits Jake Calvert (St Bernards), Ryan Murray (Scoresby) and Daniel Erasmus (Scoresby). Old faces include premiership players Matt Petracca (Montrose) Dom DiMascio and Tate Hickleton. The Football Club Committee has been busy in the off season and as always would welcome anyone willing to help out during the season; contact Peter Hards or Tom Caruso if you are able to help out. The club is still inviting any female members to get involved in an Upper Gully Netball side for this season; the inaugural EFL Netball season was a success and we look like getting a side going this season which starts on the 9th April; a uniform has been designed and plenty of interest already shown; further details below or please email uftg-netball@hotmail.com if interested. The vets are also interested in hearing from any potential players as they continue preseason training under Jason Zinnow at Kings Park on Tuesday and Thursday nights. A group of past players have spoken about getting a Past Players Association going so all past players can get together a couple of time s a year socially as well as congregating at the footy to watch the current players; more details to be announced shortly. This season will be the 50th anniversary of the 1965 reserves premiership team; the 30th anniversary of the Bluebirds under 15’s team, the 40th anniversary of the Bluebirds under 14’s team as well as the 10th anniversary of the 2005 under 13’s team; all of these premierships will be celebrated during round 13 on July 11th at Kings Park; more details soon. Club Appointments
Our newest Life Member Robyn Lawson has been appointed to Racial Vilification and Player Welfare Counsellor. This is an important role within the Club to support Players who may be affected by issues not necessarily related to the Football Club and we thank Robyn for taking on this important role and her continued involvement with the club. We would also like to Thank Toni Bielken for accepting a role in support of Sponsors. Toni knows many of our past and current sponsors and will be pivotal in building this even further. Coaching for Season 2015
The Committee is delighted to announce the re-appointment of Chad Rogers as Club Coach for season 2015. The Club is in a strong position with our young list and is committed to further developing our players. The players and the Club support Chad and his ability to lead the playing group to continue building success both on and off the field.
The Upper Ferntree Gully Football Club is proud to announce the appointment of Luke Galliott as U19s Coach for 2015; Luke has been a Senior assistant Coach for 4 years and has had a key influence in the development of the Clubs youth. Luke will be supported by assistant Gary Nash "UFTGFC past player". The Club would also like to thank Peter Weston for season 2014.
The Upper Ferntree Gully Football Club is also proud to announce the re-appointment of Cory Rogers as Reserves Coach in season 2015, Cory will continue in a non playing role this season.
New Appointment - Director of Football
At a Meeting of the Executive Committee 2015 including the current Football Dept. it was unanimously agreed to appoint Andy Hayman to the role of Director of Football.
In this role Andy will carry out Player recruitment, Opposition analysis, player relationship and contract management. It also involves mentoring and guidance to our current coaches on a needs basis and Specific Player development, particularly our younger players or where special needs exist. He generally acts in the best interests of the Club with regards to football operations.
This appointment comes with the full backing of our existing Football Dept. in particular Chad Rogers, who overwhelmingly consider Andy to be the best person available, which includes his Level 3 Coaching accreditation and vast experience.
Andy will begin this role with immediate effect and work vigorously with the coaching panel to drive our on field success into 2015. The Club is very excited by this appointment which gives us great momentum and enthusiasm

For only $50.00 you get fee entry to Home Games, voting rights at the AGM as well as entry into the weekly members draw.
It is a requirement of the club's liquor license that all persons entering the social club when the bar is open either carry a current membership card or sign the attendance register on entry.
King Club 2015
Thanks to all the members of the King Club for their support this season and hope to see you all on board again next year. The King Club is a support group for the Upper Ferntree Gully Football Club. For 2015 members of the King Club have access to the rooms during the senior game half time were they receive food and drinks complimentary during the break; there are raffles to raise further money with joker poker. You become a club member and have free entry into home games and also receive a king club polo. There is also a King Club social event during the year, which includes food and drink.
