Game # 1
Cowboys 3.3.21
Bears 5.4.34
A game that started late but looked early on that the Cowboys were going to notch their first win for the season. DK answered his critics by adding some scoreboard finesse to his repertoire by nailing a few late majors and the Bears came away with the chocolates.
Game # 2
Cowboys 0.2.2
Wolves 7.2.44
The Wolves started where they left off following an undefeated round 1 and despite their midfield grit of newcomers Michael and Liam, the Cowboys struggled with both Rolfey and Rowey out with injuries which left them too thin across the paddock. Young Kiwi under the tutelage of Vogues and Dodes were equal to the Cowboys class in the midfield and with young Norey getting first touch on the pill in the ruck, plus showing a bit around the ground, the Wolves just had too much firepower with big fellas Reese and Flop up forward in addition to the continuous rebounds off half back by Ben and Irish Pa.
Game # 3
Bears 2.0.12
Wolves 4.1.25
A tale of two halves with the Bears keeping the Wolves scoreless in the first half, only for the Wolves to repay the dose in the second and ran away with it to keep their season undefeated and officially the hunted. The Bears coming off the spell started the better with DK feeding off the wedding guest imports from SA and notched up plenty of inside 50's. Big Carl, Pa and Dave P. we're kept busy and only let the one major through until seconds before half time when big Yardy slipped down to take an uncontested mark and slotted on the siren. The Wolves turned it around in the second, and with Kiwi set the task of tagging DK, and Ben stepping up on half back with constant counter punches, the Wolves dug in to notch up another win for the newcomers.
Wolves summary: Coach Aido very impressed with his (to quote their pack leader Vogues) "Mad-dog Wolves" particularly the new Irish lads who have plenty of toe and like to take the game on. Special mentions to Patrick and Dwayne on the wings and Pa can feel a little unlucky to not get the award today after two solid games at CHB however Kiwi got the nod on the day. Vogues can also feel a tad stiff to miss the kudos for the Aussies with Ben off half back getting leather poisoning and even posting a couple of majors during the summer solstice evening games. Flop and Norey also notable mentions for the canines.
