U14 Girls - State Champions

Whilst all our junior and senior women's squads enjoyed a successful Season 2011, a special mention must be made of the successes achieved by our under 14 girls.

Not only did they finish on top of their ladder in arguable the strongest Division A competition in metropolitan Melbourne, but they went on to win the title of "Champion of Champions" in a round-robin competition against the Division A winners from the other metropolitan zones.
What makes their achievement so spectacular is that only a third of the girls who make up this squad are u14s. Of the remainder, a third are u13s and a third are u12s!! This is a testament to their talent, their commitment to this beautiful game and the support of their family and friends.

Our u14 girls worked extremely hard all season on their technical abilities and game sense, with many of them reaching an elite standard that has seen them selected for both regional (VCL) and Victorian State representation.

This, of course, would not have been possible without their incredibly talented coach, Nathan Heard, who we are delighted to say will continue as our u14s coach for Season 2012. Nathan rejoins us as part of a cohesive pool of talented and dedicated coaches across all junior and senior women squads, who work tirelessly together to implement our Junior Development Program with a view to preparing our junior girls for senior competition in the Women's Premier League and beyond.

However, it's not just about winning. The following photo was taken during the "Champion of Champions" grand final last year against Essendon Royals (pictured in the red strip) and demonstrates all the positives in the game of competition - comradery and connectedness between all the players and teams, the enjoyment clearly reflected in their faces.

If you are interested in being a part of this great club and further developing your technical abilities in this beautiful game, please feel free to give us a call.

You are most welcome to attend our pre-season/trial sessions that are currently running for our u12 girls, u14 girls, u16 girls and senior women squads (State 2, WPL Reserves and WPL Seniors).
