Werribee Tigers

The Tigers took the 4 points in both games today at Avalon Airport Oval. The Develop,ment squad were comfortable winners while the seniors had a hard battle with the Blues before getting home by 14 points.

Scott West has had an interesting start to his time as senior coach of the Werribee Football Club. The playing list had a turnover of 25 players, new assistant coaches and support staff, which meant he had to hit the ground running. Media Manager Kevin Hillier caught up with him to see how he has settled in at Avalon Airport Oval as we head into Round 9 against the Northern Blues.

The Werribee Football Club thanks the many volunteers who help us function as a club in the VFL competition. In his fortnightly column for the Weekly, Scott reflects on his first game as a player, where now as a coach, he is giving many young men that special moment.

This year the VFL State team will be playing Tasmania at Blundstone Arena Hobart on Saturday May 26th at 1.10pm. The club is delighted that four of our players have been selected in the initial 32 man squad to train for this game.

The Werribee Women's Football Circle is holding a High Tea in the President's room on Saturday June 2nd from 11am.This is the second year for this event and bookings can be made via the attachment. This is a women's only event.

The Werribee Tigers are always very active in the Wyndham Community.

The Werribee Tigers will play West Perth at the MCG on Saturday June 9th in the second round of the Foxtel Cup. This will be the first time the Werribee Tigers have graced the "G" since 2000 when we played Collingwood. The game is a curtain raiser to the Richmond v Fremantle game and will be live nationally on Fox Footy from 10.30am.
