Week 20 - that's all folks...

If the weather last week was fantastic then it was even better this week for the end of season 8th and 9th grade tournament.  The regular band of helpers turned up for their last early morning at Rogers Park, I'm sure they'll be looking forward to a sleep in next Saturday morning.  There were some great games of football with some top notch skills on display, a number of matches going to extra time and penalty shoot-outs.  Well done to the various section winners, 8th Orcas, 8th Kingfish, 9th Whales and 9th Porpoises.  Congratulations to everybody for all their efforts on the day, coaches, players, mums and dads, siblings, grandparents, everyone contributed to a fantastic finale to the season.

A big thanks again to our very own referee, Fletcher.  A fantastic effort once again in taking control of the matches, particularly organising the penalty shoot-outs.

That's about it from the Junior section, don't forget prize giving on the 1st October at Sunnyhills school.

6th Grade Birkenhead Tournament 14th August

Our littliest players played their first ever tournament on Sunday 14th August at Birkenhead.  Our 6th grade rep team journeyed over the bridge to Birkenhead to battle the elements and some of Auckland's top football clubs.  With a full house - one win, one draw and one loss - and the end of pool play we ended up in third place.  The kids all played very well and showed huge amounts of committment and dedication.  The good news for the team is that we get to do it all over again at Three Kings in a few weeks time.

Well done kids your parents, family and coach are very proud of you all!  Click More for the full report.
