Miss Yarrawarrah 2013

Congratulations to our Miss Yarrawarrah 2013, Shannyn Read. She has represented our club in the Miss Junior League competition. This year is the first year the competition will be run at the start of the season, and the winner will be asked to be an ambassador for the Junior League throughout 2013. Good luck Shannyn, you look beautiful.

Gala days for Girls playing Rugby League

The Junior League are proposing 2 Gala days for U12 and U14 girls to play rugby league. The games will be on the 15th April and the 8th June. Any girls interested in participating can contact the committee for more information.

Michael Lichaa selected as a Junior Kangaroo

Sharks Toyota Cup hooker, and Yarra jnr, Michael Lichaa has been selected for the Junior Kangaroos, in the curtain raiser to the Test Match to be played in Townsville on October 13.
The selection of Lichaa is a culmination of an outstanding season, one which saw him play for NSW in the innaugural under 20's State of Origin.

Congratulations to the 11A's, 13A's, 15A's - Premiers 2012. You boys made us all proud to be Yarrawarrah.It was great to see so many supporters, dressed in their club gear and cheering on the boys.
Well done also to our 16's, who put up a great effort today but were defeated.

A great night on Fri 3rd Aug for the Junior League Ball. Our entrant for 2012, Georgina Mellor, looked beautiful. Along with her partner Ben Issa, they made a gorgeous couple. We didnt take out the competition, but it was a great night.
Also honoured were our wonderful volunteers. Heather Wilson & Chris Greig attended, Ray Bussell and Peter Duncan were also nominated. Thanks for your dedication.

Tradies Fundraising Night

A big thankyou to everyone who helped make this fantastic night, especially Donna Slater and Sharyn Field who did a lot of the organising. It was a great night out, wonderful oppurtunity to catch up with everyone. Although attendance was smaller than hoped, we raised valuable funds to provide trophies and gifts for players at the end of the year. Thanks to all those who supported the club.

Congratulations to Kurt Picken, a 2012 recruit to our already strong 11A side. Kurt has been selected in the NSW PSSA team, an oustanding achievement in its own right, but even better because Kurt is competing against 12 year olds to make the squad. Well done Kurt, on behalf of all the Yarra tigers players and supporters.

Congratulations to Keith Galloway who had a great game for the Kangaroo's team when they took on the Kiwi's at Newcastle on Sunday 16th Oct.
Also both Chad (3 goals) and Stui (try) who made their mark for the Junior Roos in the curtain raiser.
Well done to all of you!! We are so proud of you, and as a result all the little Tigers have great role models to follow.
Congratulations for two hattricks

The 14As and 12As both completed a third premiership on the trot last Saturday. The 14s always looked winners in their game against De La Salle but still had to work for a 22 14 win. The 12As played De La as well and the two sides were locked at 12all at half time. After a scoreless 2nd half and extra time period the Tigers were declared premiers due to their higher position on the ladder. Well done also to the teams that were beaten on the day, 10A 10B, 15A and 16A. There are some photos of the day in the gallerys.

For those who were there I think we can agree that the 30th anniversary night was outstanding. A big thank you to Keith Galloway and Reece Williams for taking the time to attend and thank Chook and Gav for organising it. (Joel Reddy played outstanding footy the next day so we understand why he couldn't be there)
