LIONS HOLD OFF GALLANT GIANTS The South Perth Lions produced a solid display to hold out a valiant Joondalup outfit 26-18 in a good quality match. The Lions Reserve grade side rejoined the winners circle with 32-28 victory in yet another close game for them. more -->
TITANS NO MATCH FOR LIONS The Lions first grade side continued on their winning ways defeating the Goldfields Titans 64-24 in wet conditions on Saturday. SOUTH PERTH KNOCK OVER NORTH BEACH A good day for the club up at Charles Riley against North Beach. Both clubs enjoy a healthy rivalry and the games are usually high quality and competitive - this weekend was no exception.

The Women’s league tag got beaten 10 – 14 in the last few minutes, but still a very creditable performance against a side that played in last year’s finals.

LIONS SHUTOUT SHARKS South Perth continued their strong start to the 2010 season with a 50-0 shutout against the Rockingham Sharks at home on Saturday. The team’s defensive effort was the most pleasing aspect for coach Cory Bush with the Lions able to hold out the Sharks for the full eighty minutes. more -->

South Perth kicked off the season proper in the best way possible with wins in all 3 senior grades against the Willagee Bears.

The Women's Oztag side won kicked away in the last quarter to win first up by 22 pints to 12.

The Reserve Grade side then ran in plenty of tries but more importantly conceded no pnts in winning by 86-0.

South Perth, founded in 1949, is one of the remaining founding RL clubs of WA with a strong and proud successful tradition and has made the senior grades finals for the last 8 years winning multiple premierships in both first grade and reserve grade, and are the 2009 defending premiers.

2010 COACHING APPOINTMENTS Cory Bush has been appointed as First Grade Coach for 2010.
Previously a club reserve grade coach, first grade manager and assistant coach in premiership teams and the winning first grade premiership caretaker coach in 2006 and assistant state coach and manager last 3 years. more -->

LIONS CLAIM BACK TO BACK PREMIERSHIPS IN A THRILLER A Paul Sheedy field goal in the final minute of the game was all that separated the Lions from the Bulldogs in the most exciting WARL grand final seen in a number of years.

With First grade’s 23-22 and Reserve grade’s 26-14 victories, South Perth claimed back to back premierships in both grades. more -->
