2009 Grandfinal Day - 'Our One Day In September'...
And here I am looking back on yesterdays' games, and the spectators certainly were treated to some gutsy and excellent netball. Yes, We won one Premiership and were Runners-up in the other two. The Club is very proud of all the player's efforts and endeavour as they took to the courts and played some amazing netball.

Hillies Preliminary Final Day at McKern Oval - a Fantastic Success...
Last Saturday, White Hills Football and Netball Club hosted the Preliminary Final and it was a big Day for the Club. It would have not been such a success without so many on hand to help out, so that all ran very smoothly. It was an enormous effort, and thanks go out to all that put up their hands and helped out not only on the day, but in the weeks preceding to ensure a fantastic day for all....

Hillies Netball - Second Semi at Elmore ....
Last week we headed up to Elmore to support our A, A-Res and B-Graders and our 17 Boys who were flying the Hillies’ colours in the second semi final. We had 2 Wins and 2 Losses for the day, so our A and A-Res Teams are into the Granny and our 17 boys and B-Graders get another opportunity to play on that ‘one day in September’ this week, I am sure they will give a great account of themselves....

Hillies Netball - Round 16 vs Heathcote and 1st Semi at Colbo...
Last week we headed across to Colbo for Duties and to support our D-Graders who were flying the Hillies’ colours when they took on Elmore in the First Semi. Thanks to all our Hillies’ Supporters, families and players who made the trip over to barrack the girls on! And thanks to Les Bacon, our Trainer for his efforts on the day.

Last Saturday night the club held a “Flight Night”, which from all reports was a very successful night with a really good turnout from both players and supporters. While the on-field results have not been what we wanted, the Social events are a very important part of a clubs season. With the club sticking together during the hard times, the successful times will be all the sweeter....

The 2’s put in good four quarter effort, with all the team contributing and sharing the ball. They had 8 individual goal kickers, which is a good sign and gives the team more options up forward. It was good to see Spitty back out there after a bad injury early in the year...

Hillies Netball - Round 13 vs Mounts at Toolleen....
We headed over to Toolleen early Saty morning for a day of Netty and Footy on the Mount Pleasant Reserve. There would be some tough matches played against an always competitive Mounts, and the Hillies would take 3 wins on the netty courts. Our A-res team would have a ripper of a game, but would not take the win this round, and our C-Graders would come up against a very polished Mounts Team...

Well we headed down the Highway to Huntly on a very wet and cold Saturday for our Round 12 Matches against an always tough opponent. Their new clubrooms and back verandah would be a welcome shelter from the rain, which did not ease at all throughout the games. The netballers would take 2 wins for the day’s play, and the Footballers would take 3 wins and a cleansweep on the Footy ground...

Last week, we welcomed the Colbo boys to McKern Oval on a cold day, but quite good conditions to play Footy.
The Under 17’s kicked the day off with a good win. They played a good consistent 4 quarters against a very determined Colbo side. With the week off coming up, John will be ensuring the boys put in a big game this weekend to keep the winning momentum going....

Last weekend was quite a celebration at McKern Oval with the Netty Club celebrating its 25 Year Anniversary. We welcomed Colbinabbin to the Courts, and had some great games against an always strong competitor. Netball Vic were courtside, assessing Umpires (Congrats to ‘our’ Nat on obtaining her ‘C’ Badge) and we also had Energetic Apparel courtside displaying their great range of Netty Gear...

HILLIES FOOTBALL - RND.10 vs NORTH AT ATKINS ST...
Last week we made the journey to Atkins St to play the Bulldogs, coming away with 2 wins. The Under 17’s, who didn’t get to play against Heathcote were chaffing at the bit for a game and came out firing from the 1st bounce kicking 8 goals in the 1st quarter. They didn’t look back from there and had a big win. John will be hoping they can continue like this and build their percentage....

Another wintry day for footy at McKern Oval last week when we came up against the Heathcote Saints. Unfortunately the Under 17's did not get to play due to a forfeit, with Heathcote unable to field a side. I am sure the boys will be really keen to get out this week against the North Bendigo boys and get a win on the board...

The Locky sides were too strong in all 3 games, as the Hillie's boys had a 'red hot go', but were unable to finish off, and take the points. This gave each team a good indication of where they are at, and where they need to improve....

After a week off with the Queen’s Birthday weekend, we ‘hit the road again’ and headed up to Locky on a very chilly Saturday morning. The day didn’t get any better weather wise as we encountered showers as well, and it really didn’t get much warmer either. The girls had some great competition on the courts and would have 2 wins, a draw, and 2 losses for the days’ play....

The Hillies' girls took the trip to Colbo last Saturday morning for 'Pink Football and Netball Day'. There were indeed some excellent games of netball on the courts, as always Colbo a great competitor. The Hillies would take 5 wins for the day and be extremely happy with the girls' efforts in their games...

With a ticket sell-out the Inaugural Ladies Day Out proved to be a huge success. Ladies were entertained in the new upstairs function room for the afternoon with beautiful food, great wine and some wonderful lucky door prizes up for grabs!
