Senior Football Chair Adrian Wallin has reported the outcomes from the 2012 season information meeting of players, coaches, members & supporters.

A 'meet & greet' of the 2012 coaching panel & Under 18 & Senior players will be held at the clubhouse on THURSDAY 3rd November.

The Senior Football Committee has announced the appointment of Corey Pitts as the Pumas' Under 18 Coach for 2012.

Junior Presentation Nights - 14/15th of October!
The annual presentation nights will be on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th of October at 6pm.
All players, parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, family and friends are welcome.

Springwood Pumas is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people for the positions of Coaches for our junior/youth teams for the 2012 season.

Michael Grose has won the Club's highest award, the Ron Bishop Perpetual Shield, at the Club's 2011 Senior football presentation night.

2010 Pumas Under 18 Best & Fairest Rowan Page notched up another premiership while Redland team mate & AIS-AFL Academy member Alex Sexton has signed with Gold Coast Suns.

The Club's Senior Football Presentation of Awards and Black & Silver themed Ball will be held on Saturday 24th September.

The last game of the season was a beauty!! Pumas had to win to keep top spot on the ladder and finish as the Minor Premiers ... and they did so with style. Semi Final this Saturday August 27 vs Beenleigh at Everton - 12.45pm.

At AFLQ's Awards Dinner, Clayton Barnes has won AFLQ’s Pineapple Hotel Cup Reserves Best and Fairest Player of the Year Medal.

Football Manager Adrian Wallin has announced the Senior Football Committee's decision to re-appoint Paul Opbroek as the Club's Seniors' Coach for the 2012 season.

The Under 18 Pumas fought their way back to win the qualifying final against PBC. Steve Purdy reports on the match.

Whilst outplayed in the first half, the Seniors held their own in the second against Wilston-Grange. Coach Paul Opbroek's reflects on his first season and the pathway ahead for the Pumas while AFLQ's Terry Wilson reports on the match.

The Reserves kept their final 4 hopes alive with a solid win while the Seniors couldn't reign in the Magpies' 7-goal first half lead. Michael Grose gives his honest assessment of the Seniors' match.

The Pumas posted big wins against Maroochy/Northshore in Round 13 of competition. Lenny Phillips assesses the quality of the Reserves' win in view of their opposition's position on the ladder, Coach Paul Opbroek highlights the pleasing aspects of the Seniors' win and Josh Brown reports on the match.

Michael Grose led from the front as the Pumas made a positive start against second-placed Wilston-Grange in Round 11 of the Premier Division. Damien Hewitt reports on the Seniors' match.

The Club's Board has cancelled Saturday's Sportsman's Night due to a lack of ticket sales for the event.

After playing some of their best footy this season and holding a slender lead deep into the third quarter, the Pumas' Seniors lost their composure as the Demons piled on 7 majors in the final term. A 5-goal first quarter blitz by Surfers was too much for the Reserves to peg back. Cameron McCloy reports on the Reserves match while Oppy reflects on the Seniors game.

Round 9 of competition at home saw the Seniors finish strongly but the Western Magpies prevailed by the three early goals scored by the visitors. Luke Ruf reports and there's also a link to Terry Wilson's article on the match.



The Seniors were on the end of a thumping and the Reserves came back to earth in Round 7 matches against PBC Lions. Matt Preston-Smith and David Ritchie report on their respective matches.

It was all the 4s that counted for the Pumas' Reserves who were on target with 7 majors in the 4th term to post their 4th win and jump into 4th position on the premiership ladder. Shane Jones & Tiger Monk report on the weekend's Round 6 matches.

A second-half fightback by the Seniors fell just short of victory in Round 5 of competition. Will Sutton and Clayton Barnes report respectivelyon the Seniors & Reserves matches.



The Seniors won their first game of the season by 2 goals while the Reserves scored back-to-back wins after demolishing Mayne by 106 points.

Since the announcement of acceptances, Black Caviar has firmed into 2/1 favouritism for the 2011 Pumas Cup.

While trainer Peter Moody has set his sights on Doomben's Group 1 'BTC Cup' as the first Brisbane run for Black Caviar, Club organisers are hopeful of attracting the superstar mare to back up in the 'Pumas Cup' along with her many fans.

Round 3 of competition saw the Pumas clash with Coolangatta and the Reserves post their first win of the season. The Captains report on their respective matches.



Lowe Oval precinct was a huge hit for the many kids and their parents who enjoyed the club's catering at the Weetbix TRYathalon. President Andrew thanks the volunteers ...

The strength and experience of the Sandgate Hawks was too much for the developing Pumas when they easily accounted for both the Seniors & Reserves in Round 2 of competition.

Seniors what a game

Exhausted players collapsed to the ground when at the final siren the scoreboard showed a tie in Round 1 of competition. But what was possibly a fitting result was not to be for the gallant Pumas.

The Lowe Oval precinct will host the Brisbane leg of the Weetbix Kids TRYathlon and with the help of volunteers in catering for the event, the club will reap significant financial benefits. >>

The Juniors took to the field to have a game in between the Ressie’s (v Toowoomba) and Seniors (v Wynnum) ‘scratch’ games.

The Baby Pumas joined their Senior team mates to record a win over Yeronga in the first of the Pumas' practice matches for the season.
