Brown added to State u18 squad

The pocket dynamo Daniel Brown has been added to the State u18 state squad ahead of their first practice game this weekend.
Daniel missed out on the initial squad after missing the last two trial games due to a hip injury. After a few good performances in the the Reserve grade, Daniel now finds himself with the platform to show why he is so highly regarded at the Hornets.

NT/QLD State U21s squad has 5 Hornets

Brendan Colch, Adam Hughes, James Linton, Ryan Thomson and Trent Manzone have all been selected in the initial NT/QLD state U21s squad who will play the Eastern Conference as the curtain raiser to the senior State game on May 26th.
This is agreat oppotunity for all lads to show their stuff on the big stage and hopefully catch the eye of an AFL recruiting scout.

Dynamic duo to represent Hornets in State Squad

Mitch Mckee and Matt Payne have been selected in the initial squad for the NT/QLD state team that will play the Eastern conference on May 26th.
Both players have had terrific starts to the season with Mitch continuing to improve in now his second year at the club. Matt on the other hand was instrumental in the narrow loss to WA last year and is a proven player at State Level.

Tim Higgins to make NEAFL debut

Former country Kookaburra representative Tim Higgins will line up for the Hornets in tomorrows big clash against the brisbane Lions.
Tims call up comes on the back of great for in the Reserve grade and Tim will add to the long list of local players representing the Hornets this week.
Out of the 23 named in this weeks team, 16 are products of the local junior or QLD based clubs.

SEQAFL Hornets hold off Alex Hills

Coach Adam Holland would be thrilled with his charges as they held off Alex Hills in their round 1 clash yeasterday. After last years horror start to the season losing round 1 by less than a kick, Adam would be delighted with the four points.

This will give the lads confidence and prove that they can compete against  a quality team on their  own ground and come away with the points.
