Please note there will be no catch up session due to conflicts in scheduling following the completion of this summer squad.

The AFL KickStart Under 15 Championships will be played on the Gold Coast from Wednesday August 31 to Sunday September 4.

We would like to congratulate 4 players inparticular who were selected in the QLD team from the Gold Coast; Tyson Wilson (GC Stingrays), Andrew Barnes (Labrador), Chase Coghill (TWC), Liam Bonner (Labrador), Liam Togo (Labrador).

Congratulations to all our award winners for the 2011 Gold Coast Stingrays Presentation Night!

The U14 and U16 Stingrays Presentation Night has been confirmed for Monday August 1st at Southport Sharks Function Centre. An invitation will be sent shortly via email. We look forward to celebrating the achievements of our teams and players!

South Stingrays have had a convincing win over the North Stingrays to finish the U14 Championships in 3rd place.

The North and South Stingrays will play off against each other for 3rd place on Friday 1st July at 2.30pm. Attached are the results from Round 2 and the fixture for Round 3, to be played H & A Oval, Broadbeach

Both Gold Coast Stingrays squads have won their first round games and have advanced through to the semi finals of the U14 State Championships. The Southern Squad had a convincing win over the Suncoast Power and the Northern Squad got up in a nail biter against the Western Taipans. Results of all Round One games and the draw for Round Two is attached.

The Under 16 Gold Coast Stignrays have been crowned 2011 state champions after a impressive and at times convincing display in the Australia Post Queensland State Championships held at Zillmere over the long weekend.

The Under 16 Gold Coast Stingrays have started their Australian Post State Championship campaign in fine fashion with a dominate 54 point win over the Western Taipans.

On Wednesday night the Under 16 Gold Coast Stingray Squad for 2011 were presented with their playing jumpers and team gear by Gold Coast SUNS players, Marc Lock and Jacob Gillbee.

After recording all the results gained from the testing that was conducted for both U14 stingrays squads on Monday 18th April we have developed a top 10 for each of the tests. We have produced some excellent results that you should all be proud of, especially considering the conditions. Club coaches will be sent a list of all the players results that represented their clubs on the day soon.

Congratulations to all players and parents for their efforts today. It was very dificult to finalise a squad, but please find attached the initial squad selected from todays trials. Details of the first training session are also included.

The final squad has been announced today for the 2011 Under 16 Development Squad to compete at the State Championships at Zillmere from April 28 to May 2. Congratulations to all players who have been selected and also to those who have missed out. An interview will be arranged for the players that have not made the final squad. Please see the list and further details attached.

The Gold Coast Stingrays Under 16 trial game held at Carrara on Thursday 10th March has now been posted on YouTube. The game has been posted by each quarter and has been placed on the web to allow players to view their game and see what we can do better as a squad. This week the 3 Gold Coast Stingrays training squads, the under 14 northern and southern squad and the under 16’s, got the opportunity to be put through their paces in a intense training session lead by 5 of the Gold Coast SUNS players.

5 former Gold Coast Stingray representives are looking forward to a big inaugural year with the new 17th AFL Franchise Gold Coast Suns. The players on the list of 53 are Marc Lock, Rory Thompson, Jack Stanlake, Joel Wilkinson and Joel Tippet. These 5 players now make it an impressive 22 players across the AFL lists from the Gold Coast region.
