GOLD COAST STINGRAYS

Congratulations to those players who have been selected in the final U/16 Stingrays North squad.

Please find attached the list of players who have been selected in the squads. Please be aware that the program allows for the Gold Coast Stingrays Coaching Staff to both add and remove players from the squad at any time based on player behaviour, attitude, form at training and in club games and consultation with club coaches.

For those players who did not make the squad, be disappointed, but prepared to seek feedback from the Stingrays coaches. The Stingrays program will be monitoring a number of players who have not been named in the squad in the coming weeks as well as some injured players who have not been named in the squad at this stage but will be considered. There are still opportunities so ensure you do not drop your bundle.

There will be a practise match against the Western Taipans this Wednesday evening at Coomera AFC from 6:00pm. Players are required to be at the ground no later than 5:00pm.

Players will also be required to attend a team camp on Saturday 21^st April at Tallebudgera Recreation Centre. Further details to come.

Training will resume at Robina AFC on Wednesday 11^th April from 4:30pm. There will be a practise match against the South East Bushrangers next Wednesday evening the 18^th April at Coomera AFC from 6:00pm. Players are required to be at the ground no later than 5:00pm.

Training will continue every Monday and Wednesday, 4.30-6.30pm 

On the 19th of March at Metricon Stadium, Carrara from 4:30 - 6pm. After training there will be a Player and Parent information session in the GC SUNS Players lounge from 6:00 – 6:30pm. Please ensure that all players and at least one parent or carer are in attendance.

Throughout the next 7 weeks 25 players will be selected for each squad to play in the Under 16's State Championships in late April early May.

Due to the first 2 sessions of the U15s being washed out, we have a make up session on MONDAY 13th FEBRUARY at your respective ovals for the North and South Squads 5pm-6.30pm

Training for the U16 Stingrays will train at Trinity Lutheran College (Senior School - 641 Ashmore Rd, Ashmore).

Please ensure you wear runners as it is an indoor facility

• U15s Stingrays for Wednesday 1st February has been CANCELLED due to ground closures.

• U16s Stingrays for Wednesday 1st February WILL PROCEED, venue will be confirmed shortly.

U16 training WILL BE PROCEEDING tonight, it has been moved to the grass area next to the AFLQ and SUNS offices. Training will conclude at 6pm.

Confirmation of Wednesday's training will be sent out via email. If you have not received email correspondance today, please email stingrays@aflq.com.au or call 5594 5722 so we can check your details are on our data base.

Please note, the U15's Summer Development Squad has been CANCELLED for Wednesday 25th January 2012.

Please note there will be no catch up session due to conflicts in scheduling following the completion of this summer squad.

The AFL KickStart Under 15 Championships will be played on the Gold Coast from Wednesday August 31 to Sunday September 4.

We would like to congratulate 4 players inparticular who were selected in the QLD team from the Gold Coast; Tyson Wilson (GC Stingrays), Andrew Barnes (Labrador), Chase Coghill (TWC), Liam Bonner (Labrador), Liam Togo (Labrador).

Congratulations to all our award winners for the 2011 Gold Coast Stingrays Presentation Night!

The U14 and U16 Stingrays Presentation Night has been confirmed for Monday August 1st at Southport Sharks Function Centre. An invitation will be sent shortly via email. We look forward to celebrating the achievements of our teams and players!

South Stingrays have had a convincing win over the North Stingrays to finish the U14 Championships in 3rd place.

The North and South Stingrays will play off against each other for 3rd place on Friday 1st July at 2.30pm. Attached are the results from Round 2 and the fixture for Round 3, to be played H & A Oval, Broadbeach

Both Gold Coast Stingrays squads have won their first round games and have advanced through to the semi finals of the U14 State Championships. The Southern Squad had a convincing win over the Suncoast Power and the Northern Squad got up in a nail biter against the Western Taipans. Results of all Round One games and the draw for Round Two is attached.

The Under 16 Gold Coast Stignrays have been crowned 2011 state champions after a impressive and at times convincing display in the Australia Post Queensland State Championships held at Zillmere over the long weekend.

The Under 16 Gold Coast Stingrays have started their Australian Post State Championship campaign in fine fashion with a dominate 54 point win over the Western Taipans.
