Face The Fear!!

My Mighty Cats enjoyed a fabulous victory last weekend to win the AFL Premiership. The Cats faced the fear of letting another Premiership go to make the history books with the biggest margin of victory ever in an AFL/VFL Grand Final. The week before I feel the Fear got the better of them with their sluggish performance against the Pies, but to their credit, they came away with the win.

In all levels of sport, Fear is one of the most limiting emotions we can play with, creating tension within our body and losing all sense of fluidity in what we are trying to achieve. When we are struck down with Fear, we are extremely focused on what we DONT we to do and this is generally the first thing that we will get. To combat the Fear, if you can begin to focus on what it is you DO want to do, this will help the brain create a clear picture of what you will do and in turn send the muscles a more empowering message, that as we saw last week with the Cats, can become history in the makiing!!!
